The Pocket Library was a project I organised for the Editing & Publication section of my Creative Writing MLitt.
The purpose of the project was to create a truly local micro library that existed both digitally and physically — literally a ‘library in your pocket’.
I focused submissions on other members of my cohort as a way to exhibit their talents and also to strengthen the sense of local writing — although some members were distance learners, I felt that being part of Glasgow University joined us together in this locality.
I rented a room at the university and also created an interlinked website where users could digitally ‘browse’ the library.
I received an A for this project. If you’re interested, you can read my reflective essay on the experience here.
